Sahaba Downtown Islamic Association is a non-profit and charitable organization based in Edmonton, Alberta. We rely on support from the public in order to provide crucial services and programs to meet the spiritual, educational, and community needs of all those in the area. Sahaba Mosque, our main facility, serves as a humble and inclusive place of worship to nurture a strong and cohesive community.
Sahaba Mosque, located in downtown Edmonton, is a modest and welcoming space for worship. We offer regular congregational prayers, including Jumu'ah (Friday) prayers, providing an opportunity for individuals to connect deeply with their faith. While our roots lie in downtown, we are dedicated to serving Muslims across the wider Edmonton area, fostering a sense of unity and inclusivity.
We are deeply committed to education and personal growth. We offer diverse educational programs tailored to different age groups, including Quranic studies, Islamic classes, and character-building initiatives. Our aim is to foster a profound understanding of Islamic teachings and values, nurturing a strong foundation of faith within our community. We offer various initiatives aimed at empowering young Muslims and fostering their leadership skills. Our Youth Program, for instance, provides a platform for positive engagement and personal development among the youth.
We wholeheartedly recognize and value the integral role of Muslim women within our community, and we strive to support them despite our financial constraints. Sahaba Sisters, an essential part of Sahaba Mosque, provides a platform for Muslim women to come together, empower one another, and actively participate in our various activities and initiatives. Through Sahaba Sisters, we organize events, workshops, and discussions that address the unique needs and challenges faced by Muslim women, fostering sisterhood, personal growth, and spiritual development within our community.
