Educate, Empower and Engage Canadians

• We educate parents and trusted adults with evidence-based information
• We empower parents with the practical tools to help them engage in open and honest conversations about substance use with their pre-teens and teens.
• We raise the public’s awareness of the important issues affecting youth and substance use, collaborating with advertising agencies and media partners to create drug education/prevention campaigns that run on TV, radio, print, and digital media across Canada.
• We inform parents and trusted adults about the increased risk of illegal street drugs and problematic opioid use by youth.
• We encourage parental engagement in:
• the prevention of substance use by youth; 
• intervention – reducing the harm drug use can cause to youth: 
• supporting the treatment of their child’s problematic substance use and recovery.
