The Carnegie Gallery is a not-for-profit, artist-run gallery and shop operated by the Dundas Art and Craft Association. The mission of the gallery is to encourage the appreciation and production of Canadian visual art and fine craft.
Donations to the gallery support its efforts to promote and sell the art of Canadian artists and craftspeople, to assist them in making a living from their work. These efforts include exhibitions, an in-gallery shop and extensive programming.
The gallery curates up to 24 juried exhibitions annually. Entrance to the gallery is always free and exhibitions offer opportunities to purchase work created by Canadian artists and craftspeople both regional and national. The Gallery Shop features a vast array of contemporary fine art and craft created by our many local and regional Artist Members.
Run primarily by volunteers and employing two part-time staff, the gallery is located in a splendid heritage building. Along with the opportunity to purchase high-quality art and craft, it hosts concerts, workshops, demonstrations, children's classes, lectures on art and art history, bus tours to out-of-town art galleries, and many other fundraising events.
