Having a voice is what allows you to express yourself.  However, those with Down syndrome often face difficulties expressing themselves orally: their speech is delayed, often unclear and their expressive skills are often lacking.  Families of those with Down syndrome usually turn to Speech and Language Therapy to help their loved one better develop this significantly important communication skill. The professional help is there, but the cost is quite high, which then creates a barrier to accessing this help. We at DDSA would like to remove as much as possible some of these financial burdens.
