A thriving hub for artists and art instruction, Dundas Valley School of Art is an independent not-for-profit art school, serving the Hamilton region since 1964. Through our courses, lectures and workshops, we provide high- quality and accessible visual arts education to over 6,000 registrants annually, bringing together artists of all ages and from all walks of life.
From its humble beginnings – which consisted of one class and one teacher in rented space above a sporting goods store – the school has grown to offer over 550 courses each year taught by over 100 faculty members, many who are also working artists. Our extensive art outreach programs engage over 48,000 individuals in the community in visual art experiences each year. Whether we are helping adults with life-long learning experiences, guiding children to develop their creative processes or assisting students of all ages to further develop their artistic abilities, DVSA is committed to building community through the visual arts.
