Our Mission
East Borderland Community Housing Inc. (EBCH) has been established to fund, build and operate multi-unit seniors’ housing for the residents of the RM of Piney and the Communities of Moose Lake and Buffalo Point, Manitoba.
About EAST BORDERLAND COMMUNITY HOUSING INC
In the fall of 2004, the Regional Health Authority (RHA), supported by the RM of Piney, facilitated four public consultation sessions in the community. The RHA presented a proposal to construct a housing complex adjacent to the Primary Health Care Centre near Sprague. The East Borderland Phase III complex would provide a full range of seniors’ housing options, including 12 Personal Care Home (PCH) beds, 8 Supportive Housing/Swing Beds (SH), as well as 15 Elderly Persons’ Housing (EPH) units. Local residents were very supportive and enthusiastic in their response to the proposal, which requires a local entity (EBCH) to take responsibility for the EPH part of the complex.
(EBCH) a not-for-profit registered charity was formulated in early 2005 by a group of community volunteers. It consists of a group of over 250 members from which a volunteer board of directors is elected.
