Ecomuseum Zoo

about

The Ecomuseum Zoo is a non-profit organization operated by the Saint-Lawrence Valley Natural History Society. The Zoo is a unique place where lasting attachment relationships with animals are created daily, and where each can rediscover the pleasures of living in harmony with nature.

As the only zoo presenting animals exclusively from Québec, we believe that educating today about wildlife and the environment will produce tomorrow a direct impact on their health and ours. The Ecomuseum Zoo’s mission rests on three guiding principles: education, species and habitat conservation, as well as animal well-being.

The animals residing at the Ecomuseum Zoo all have a unique history. Along the pathways, visitors can meet residents that were orphaned, rehabilitated or born under professional human care. We’re grateful to be able to offer them a safe and loving forever home, where their well-being is at the heart of every thought, every decision and every action.

It is with this approach that we develop our numerous educational programs offered to both schools and the general public. By focusing our efforts on young people, we hope to instill knowledge and respect for wildlife and promote environmental excellence among those who are our future leaders.

Concretely your donations will be used to support future development of the Ecomuseum Zoo: important conservation projects in the wild, extended reach of our education program and animal well-being standards are and will be at the heart of our priorities for the coming years.
