Our community needs a new Jewish cemetery

For more than 100 years, dedicated community volunteers, from all congregations, have operated a charitable not-for-profit organization that cares for the deceased and for the cemetery where they rest. Soon, however, the cemetery will be full. 

Just as previous generations came together to found, develop and grow the current cemetery, it is now critical that the community come together to support the development of the new Jewish cemetery.

The anticipated cost of the new cemetery is about three million dollars

The budget includes all permits, land clearing and landscaping, in-ground servicing, roads, walkways, furnishing, fencing, security and a chapel. The goal is to have the new cemetery operational by 2022. The land is in place. Two-thirds of the budget is in place. Plans are in place.

The founding of the Edmonton Jewish Cemetery, more than 100 years ago, was an historic event.
