#GivingTuesday is a wonderful global movement inspiring generosity and change, and it's just around the corner. We hope you will consider helping to foster the next generation of jazz musicians in Edmonton by adding some music, and inspiration, to a young music student's life at the Jazzworks Non-Competitive Band Festival.
Will you donate a seat for student?
For 3 days every spring, the Jazzworks Non-Competitive Band Festival hosts over 300 junior/senior high school music students in a peer-friendly environment that includes opportunities to perform and to learn from guest adjudicators. As a special treat for participating students, the EJFS presents a special lunch hour performance featuring the Edmonton Jazz Orchestra (17 member, professional big band), at no cost to the schools.
This year's clinic and showcase spots sold out at both sites in under 12 hours. After more than 15 years this event remains a favourite for music teachers from all across the province.
$10 is all it takes to cover the cost of seat for a student to see a professional big band perform up-close-and-personal. And for every $1 you give, the fund gets $2! We have some special individuals who have generously stepped up and committed to match funds raised through this campaign.
This year's campaign starts on November 21 and ends at 11:59pm on #GivingTuesday, November 28, with a goal of raising $3,000 to help with the EJO portion of the event.
Share the gift of music with an aspiring student today!
