East End United Regional Ministry is working to build and support community in East End Toronto. We are:
- A faith seeking community of the United Church that welcomes participants with diverse perspectives on God, church and the meaning of Christian faith
- An affirming congregation of the United Church that invites people of all sexual orientations and gender identities to join us.
- A provider of services to members of our local community offering practical necessities, such as food and clothing, as well as the warmth of community and care
We operate from two locations:
- Glen Rhodes campus and Neighbourhood Food Hub at 1470 Gerard Street East where we worship and work to build food justice in our community in concert with other community partners. Nourish East End includes community dinners and a busy free food market where over 800 local families are registered.
- The Danforth Multifaith Commons (Eastminister United Church campus) at 310 Danforth Ave. This historic church is now a multifaith hub housing the worship and social justice activities of East End United Regional Ministry, the Danforth Jewish Circle and the Neighbourhood Unitarian Universalist Congregation. Learn more about the Commons. From November to March, we also host Out of the Cold at Eastminster at this location providing food, shelter, clothing and the dignity of conversation and choice to homeless and under-housed members of our community.
You can also support other East End programs through Canada Helps including our core worship and music programs, our refugee sponsorship initiatives, and the Danforth Grow Hope project. Use the drop-down menu above to make donations to programs that you wish to support.
Thank you.
