Our Mission
The Emergo Foundation was set up in May 2011 to ensure the sustainability of Emergo Respite. Every year, the Foundation organizes a fund-raising campaign that includes various events, including a golf tournament as well as a direct mail campaign.
All revenues generated by the Foundation benefit Emergo Respite, whose mission, for over 40 years, has been to offer respite services to families living with people faced with an autism spectrum disorder, by welcoming them in a safe, stimulating outdoor environment adapted to their needs.
About Us
Emergo offers respites during the school year—some twenty 2-5-day stays, and therefore, some on weekends and some during school breaks. As for the summer respite, Emergo offers four programs chosen based on the specific objectives of each program: supervision, recreational activities, socialization, integration and self-sufficiency. The length of stays ranges from 5 to 12 days.
Every year, Emergo provides over 60,000 hours of respite (2610 nights) to more than 250 families from all over Quebec. The participants that we welcome are between the ages of 4 and 60.
