About EMCO Charity (Empowering Moms & Children Organization)

EMCO Charity is a community-based nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting mothers, children, and families facing hardship across Ontario and Canada. For more than eight years, our mission has been guided by one core belief:

Healthy Mother, Healthy Family, Healthy Society.

We provide essential, holistic, and culturally sensitive services that empower vulnerable mothers to rebuild their lives with dignity, safety, and hope. Our programs meet families where they are—offering compassion, respect, and practical support during their most challenging moments.

The Mothers Center – A Safe Haven for Families

The EMCO Mothers Center, located at 9199 Yonge Street in Richmond Hill, is the heart of our organization. It is a warm, welcoming, and safe space where mothers and children can access vital support, including:

Core Services

• Family Lawyer Support – Guidance for mothers facing separation, custody issues, or family legal challenges
• Social Worker Services – Crisis intervention, safety planning, and connecting families to essential resources
• Psychologist & Mental Health Care – Trauma-informed counseling and emotional support
• Empowerment Workshops & Healing Circles – Programs that build confidence, resilience, and wellbeing
• Goods 4 Moms Program – Food, diapers, clothing, household essentials, and emergency items
• Emergency Support – Assistance for mothers experiencing sudden or urgent crises

Our Impact

Each year, EMCO Charity supports hundreds of mothers and children through mental health care, legal support, food assistance, and empowerment programs. Many of the families we serve are newcomers, single mothers, survivors of violence, or individuals facing financial insecurity.

With the generosity of donors and volunteers, we help families stabilize, heal, and move toward independence—restoring hope and strengthening our community.
