Enpuku-ji is an urban centre dedicated to the study and practice of Rinzai Zen Buddhism, one of the main schools of Zen in Asia. Enpuku-ji provides an environment where Montrealers of diverse religious and cultural backgrounds are supported in their realization of Zen teachings through the core practices of silent meditation, work and study. These practices are a means to experiencing compassion and wisdom in our lives.
About ENPUKU-JI/CENTRE ZEN DE LA MAIN/
Enpuku-ji is an urban Rinzai Zen Buddhist practice centre, situated in the Plateau/MontRoyal area of Montreal. The centre provides a daily schedule of morning and evening meditation in the style and spirit of the teaching of Kyozan Joshu Sasaki, Roshi. The resident monk and abbess is Zengetsu Myokyo. In addition to the regular zazen schedule, Enpuku-ji offers study groups, dharma talks, one-day retreats, sesshins, Buddhist ceremonies and personal ceremonies such as weddings, baby-namings and memorials.
