A professional Montreal vocal ensemble presenting virtuosic performances of distinct and diverse repertoire. Directed by Roseline Blain.
Our Mission
Ensemble Musica Orbium is incorporated as a non-profit, professional Canadian choir based in Montreal. The ensemble founded by the late Patrick Wedd is now under the artistic direction of Roseline Blain. It presents virtuosic and a cappella performances of the highest calibre.
Its simple but ambitious mission is to bring distinct and diverse repertoire to an audience interested in more than traditional programming.
About Our Charity
Since its inception Musica Orbium has presented distinct and diverse programming that often features works by Canadian composers or arrangers. The ensemble strives to contribute culturally to the community by providing enriching performance opportunities to our community’s artists, by presenting works by Quebec composers and arrangers, and by fulfilling its stated mission. The ensemble also aims to go beyond tradition, mining the choral repertoire for lesser-known works that stimulate the choir and audience to higher performance standards and a greater appreciation of choral musicianship. The choir produces its own concerts twice a year, in the Montreal region, and is regularly invited to perform with local orchestras and organizations.
