Equal Play aims to create Positive Changes for Girls On and Off the Field. In the past 6 years, Equal Play has given a free two month Girls Leadership World Cup Soccer Program to 25 Vancouver Elementary Schools per year. The program grew to Toronto in 2019. Over 6000 girls have received a free program. Many received a free soccer ball.
The empowerment project has created a positive spirit for so many young girls who often do not feel that they are good enough to play or feel intimidated by the boys who often take over the playground.
Equal Play was founded by former Canadian National Team Member Carrie Serwetnyk who is the first woman inducted in the Canadian Soccer Hall of Fame.
Equal Play has been supported by Telus, Jumpstart, TD Bank. Due to the pandemic, our funding has been cut and we seek public donation.
