Equitas - International Centre for Human Rights Education is a non-profit organization based in Montréal, Canada. Since 1967, Equitas has been an influential Canadian human rights organization working with individuals, communities, institutions, and organizations around the world to address growing threats to democratic rights and values. Equitas uses education to provide people with the means to understand, advocate for and exercise their rights.
With training programs in Canada and abroad, our International Human Rights training program already provided education and training to more than 4,000 human rights professionals working in the field, empowering them to become more effective in their important work of human rights education, advocacy and monitoring in their home countries.
