ABOUT FAMILY SOS
Family SOS is a local, non-profit organization directed toward building strong and healthy families. We do this by providing a continuum of in-person and outreach support services for children, youth, and parents.
At Family SOS we focus on:

Our Children and Youth Programs target at-risk children and youth in the Halifax Regional Municipality through these initiatives: Healthy Kidz and Healthy Teenz
The goal of the Children and Youth programs is the enhancement of self-esteem, literacy, healthy relationships, and pro-social choices in children and youth, which is necessary in the enhancement of good mental health.
Family SOS also offers Food Support:
Our Lunchbox Project at Rockingstone Heights School feeds 400 children a healthy hot lunch each week.
Our Community Market, in partnership with Feed Nova Scotia, provides supplemental food to 120 families each week.
Our Community Garden project provides a part-time gardening coordinator to teach children, teens, and adults how to grow their own food.
