URGENT Resources for HT Victim/Survivors to prevent summer re-entry

URGENT HELP for Survivors during summer is harder to find:  it may be a plane ticket, groceries, help recovering identification, finding safe housing, paying bills, a drive, therapy visits and alternate activities, pet support in housing crisis, transportation to meetings and transitions, referrals, agency staff/survivor plan collaborations, paid addiction detox, support beds, life skills and resources before during and after trial, child custody support, family furniture/clothing, and on the rise.  With less government-funded and funded agencies focusing on human trafficking as they address broader issues in Violence Against Women and Girls, we see survivors with less expert support staff, fewer resources, and for shorter periods.  This is a concerning issue that we see growing, and requires our expertise to guide workers to navigate their way through whatever season in the survivor's life they find themselves in. Read more below to understand and stand together financially with us.

=Crisis response via tele and screens for agency specialists and clients to support HT survivors not just during exiting, and care, or trials but through their future.  Many run into trials and road blocks 12 months, 3 years, 5 years, 10 years after exiting after agencies are finished with them, funding runs out, or they don't fit the requirements for support often only covering the first 3 months of human trafficking support if they were trafficked within the previous 12 months.  (Note disclosures often happen outside of the 12 month window disqualifying them for current government funded agency supports)

False narratives shared by pro sex industry agencies as positive, empowering and forward thinking as a financial solution creates survivor confusion and unsafe environments in crisis counseling, peer mentoring and services provision.

-Shame often prevents survivors from self accessing food, rent, basic needs- our Survivor responses to shop, seek safe housing and understand self-care are gateways to self-reliance and positive self-direction setting new patterns and behaviours as practices and self-awareness controls

-Immediate responses for medical, dental, and mental health appointments through pathways that have unacceptable wait lists are needed in almost every survivor support scenario.  Funding for the professionals, and staff often don't translate into more services that mirror the needs of survivors - We find clinicians, clinics, alternative medicine, nutrition, gyms, programs and helps that distract and refocus girls away from entrenched lifestyles of sex industry  to re-learn what is available for healthy living that they were not accessing, aware of while being trafficked.

-Text support (front line worker) who encounter victim/survivors struggling with fear, isolation and risk potential re-entry into the sex industry or addiction who lose hope and momentum need help in formulating recommendations and plans for survivors to enact self-care, self-determination.  Helping professionals understand healthy, proven options and navigate through the ever-increasing system gaps and non-survivor informed/endorsed programs and destructive pathways can prevent re-entry trauma and support survivor decision making and self-reliance
