The Festival Antigonish Foundation is an independent, registered charity created to build a sustainable financial base for Festival Antigonish Summer Theatre. Since 2007, the Foundation has grown an endowment fund dedicated solely to supporting Festival Antigonish’s professional productions, youth programs, community outreach, and future facility needs. 

The endowment is managed by a volunteer board and investment committee, drawing on the expertise of experienced business and community leaders. Only the income earned from the fund is granted out each year, while the capital is preserved in perpetuity to benefit future generations.

Thanks to donors and matching support from Canadian Heritage’s Endowment Incentives Program and private partners, the Foundation’s endowment has surpassed $1 million and provides a significant annual grant to Festival Antigonish, helping keep ticket prices accessible, supporting artistic risk-taking, and investing in established and emerging artists.

Today, the Foundation continues to grow the endowment and align its support with key priorities such as access and inclusion, community and student engagement, and strategic initiatives like Bridge the Bauer and future arts centre planning.
