Founded in 1992 as the Festival des Arts Hiawatha and renamed the Festival des Arts de Saint-Sauveur in 1997, FASS's mission is to support the creation, promotion, and presentation of the most highly-reputed performing artists and groups on the local, national, and international scene, and to stimulate appreciation and sensitivity to arts and culture in a broadened audience base, particularly among the younger generation.
Convinced of the fundamental role of culture in our society as a conveyor of values and a motor for development, the Festival des Arts de Saint-Sauveur supports the striving for excellence and encourages exemplary practices.
Since 1997, the Festival has become one of the major artistic and cultural events in Quebec through the annual presentation of artists of national and international renown who have contributed to establishing FASS's reputation of excellence.
Recipient in 2007, 2008 and 2014 of the Grand Prix du Tourisme in the Cultural Festivals and Events category and recognized by the Conseil des Arts et des Lettres du Québec as a Centre of Excellence in the Laurentian region, FASS pursues its mission with pride and determination.
With the support of our generous donors and private and public sector partners, FASS has assumed a leadership role in the community, actively contributing to the establishment of a base for a true cultural pole in the Laurentians, a pole which is now well-known outside the region.
