Fire Exit Theatre grew out of a realization that theatre should be more like church...and church should be more like theatre. Both should be provide sanctuary-a safe place to explore, a place where truth is told, a place where authentic community is built and redemption is offered.
We want to tell better stories and we want to tell stories better.
We exist to create a conversation around beliefs, believers and how to navigate our faith and our art. Our mandate is Hope-Challenge-Change. We will never leave an audience hopeless, we want to be challenge and be challenged and we will always seek to inspire change. That is the point of theatre. We want our audience to leave differently than when they came in.
