Our Mission
Fondation autisme Laurentides (FAL) is a registered charity organization which raises funds to help its affilialte, Autisme Laurentides, in its mission towards persons and families living with autism (ASD).
Our mission is to offer these families access to specialized leisure and respite services adapted to the need of each different child. Our priority is to offer for a majority of participants support services on a ratio of 1 counselor per participant.
Autism (ASD) is a serious disorder which affects the development and behavior of the child (or adult). It cannot be cured. According to the most recent Canadian surveys, one in every 64 child (1:64) who is now born in Québec is expected to be diagnosed with ASD. In the Laurentians region (our territory), this ratio is 1:60, representing more than 650 new diagnosis per year.
Autism, with its alarming prevalence rates, is now a society issue. We must act now to help all those affect by ASD.
