Our Mission
The Fondation Bon départ de Canadian Tire du Québec is dedicated to the development of children and adults living in vulnerable situations by offering respite stays and camps at its Base de plein air Bon départ. It also supports various community organizations in order to improve the quality of life of children and their families, notably by contributing to the development of healthy lifestyle habits and to their well-being.
1990 : Canadian Tire dealers decided to create their own foundation with the desire to give locally and support charitable organizations in their communities.
2001 : The Fondation acquires the Perce-Neige outdoor center, formerly owned by the Hospital Louis-H. Lafontaine, which will be renamed to become the Base de plein air Bon départ in 2014.
2020 : The Fondation celebrated its 30th anniversary in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the instability of the situation, it demonstrated ingenuity and reinvented itself to continue pursuing its mission, thereby continuing to support vulnérable children and families in Quebec.
2023 : Since 1990, the Fondation has invested a total of $15,739,718 in its Charitable Organizations Program, sponsoring over 1,000 projetcs across Quebec. It has also invested a total of $16,024,814 in the activities of the Base de plein air Bon départ, contributing to more than 346,871 days of activities since its implementation in 2004.
