Our Mission

Located in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, "La Fondation de l' École Maisonneuve" is an organisation created in 2004 by involved parents. The school welcomes approximately 450 students from pre-kindergarten to grade 6. It is also a centre point of service for students with learning and language difficulties. Part of the school's clientele lives in a low socio-economic area. It has been noted that 6% of the school population does not eat breakfast in the morning. As much as 62% of the children in this school never participate in activities other than the ones that are offered at school.

The foundation has for mission to be committed in producing competent and confident children through worthy school activities such as “Les Arts de la Scène". This study of dramatic art and human development can only bring about the ability to think creatively and socially in a healthy academic environment. It helps encourage students contribute to a creative process, that benefits not only their learning of French but a variety of different subjects bridging History, Geography, Music and English to state but a few. Its primary goal is to collect funds to insure the continual success of a variety of projects with priority given to "Les Arts de la Scène". Furthermore, the foundation contributes to many other field trips and activities. Many cultural and athletic activities and outings have been financed by the foundation.

Complimentary pedagogical activities linked with Quebec's School Development Programs have also been possible because of the funds collected by the foundation. Finally many prizes and gifts to help nurture the all-round development of each child-academically, socially, culturally and physically is also possible because of the funds collected. With your contribution, it will be possible for students from l' École Maisonneuve to thrive and benefit from a better experience…the one of imagination and creativity all the while loving the process of learning in school.
