Grow Beyond

About the Grow Beyond campaign:

Launched by the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation in June 2023, Grow Beyond aims to raise $500 million by 2028 to fundamentally transform the lives of every child, everywhere in Quebec. It's the most ambitious major campaign in the history of the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation, and the largest ever undertaken by a single hospital center in Quebec.

Why Grow Beyond?

Children rarely do things by halves. Little kids create worlds filled with larger-than-life characters and flowers that reach the sky, and teens dream big and make ‘’over-the-top’’ the norm. The pure hearts and curious minds of youth know no limits - their world is a playground filled with unbridled potential.Inspired by them, the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation sees beyond the impossible to redefine what’s possible. For the immediate and future health of children and mothers-to-be, and to change the face of society, the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation Grows Beyond.

What is Grow Beyond’s goal?

Grow Beyond aims to raise $500 million by 2028 to fundamentally transform the life of every child. Thanks to our donors, we have already secured commitments for 50% of our fundraising goal during the silent phase. To transform a life course, CHU Sainte-Justine believes that we must recognize the uniqueness of each child, taking into account physical, psychological, geographical and socio-economic factors.Treating every child, from their genetic code to their postal code, as part of a sustainable health approach in which individual well-being has the power to improve that of society as a whole: this is the ambition of Grow Beyond.

How will donations be used?

To fundamentally transform the lives of children across Quebec, the Grow Beyond campaign intends to distribute the funds raised as follows:

- Pediatric oncology and shift to outpatient care: $140M

- Precision health and digital transformation: $120M

- Mental health and neurodevelopment: $45M

- Maternal and child health, and infectiology: $30M

- A patient-and-family-centred hospital experience: $30M

- Education and knowledge transfer: $25M

- Other key priorities (care, teaching, research): $110M

To make the most of every dollar entrusted to it and better meet the priority needs of the CHU Sainte-Justine, the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation invests all donations received with the utmost ethical concern and transparency.

As of 2019, its average ratio of total expenses vs. total revenues is 17%. This ratio is significantly lower than that of the Canadian group of children's hospital foundations, which stands at 22%.
