FONDATION POUR L'AVANCEMENT DU THEATRE FRANCOPHONE AU CANADA

about

Our Mission

Created in 1999 by the Association des théâtres francophones du Canada (ATFC), a national organization that brings together sixteen companies located in six provinces (New Brunswick, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia), the Foundation for the Advancement of Francophone Theatre in Canada has a mission to support the development of French-language theatre in minority-language contexts and to encourage excellence within the field. It does so by annually supporting creation and training projects initiated by professional artists with a maximum of ten years of experience. Its goal is to foster the growth of their careers with the hope of seeing them take root within a community that belongs to them. In addition, every two years, the Foundation honours the major national or regional contribution of an established artist. The Foundation therefore works very closely with the Association des théâtres francophones du Canada, which oversees its management in close collaboration with an independent Board of Directors.

About Us

OUR PURPOSE

• The Foundation for the Advancement of Francophone Theatre in Canada is a Canadian non-profit corporation with charitable status;• It is governed by a Board of Directors representing different regions of the country;• Its honorary committee is composed of prominent figures who, each in their field, have achieved excellence at the Canadian or international level.

OUR VOICES ON STAGE – 2025–2026 FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN

The FATFC is launching its “Our Voices on Stage” campaign—an invitation to support the vitality of Francophone culture.

In every province, Francophone artists and cultural workers create, share, and tell our culture—often in challenging conditions, but always with passion.

Your donation, whether $5, $20, $50, or more, directly helps artists create, train, and share their voices.

Together, let’s aim for $15,000 to keep Francophone voices resonating on stage.
