WHY support the Foundation?
Thousands of veterans of all ages in Quebec are experiencing difficult personal challenges. At the Quebec Veterans Foundation (QVF) we help them have a better life, one marked by dignity, resilience, and strength. Our foundation funds services parallel to the healthcare system. This includes activities tailored to the needs of veterans, in collaboration with healthcare professionals at Ste. Anne’s Hospital and external partners in different regions of Quebec who offer programs adapted to the specific challenges they face.
We strongly believe that the men and women who have served our country should all feel pride and be able to continue to contribute to their communities in the context of their civilian lives.
Your support enables many ex-military personnel to regain their strength and ease the many scars of their trauma, improving their well-being and that of their families.
After sacrificing part of their lives as soldiers, these men and women deserve to receive service and assistance with the same commitment they have shown us.
WHAT DOES the Foundation DO?
The QVF supports essential programs dedicated to veterans who face significant challenges as they transition to civilian life. Our programs meet the most pressing needs of the veteran community. Our mission is accomplished through five areas of action that we carry out directly. This in collaboration with partner organizations that, with our support, have developed services adapted to the reality of veterans.
- Programs for Veterans in long-term care at Ste. Anne’s Hospital
- Programs for Veterans with OSI (operational stress injuries and pain management)
- Programs for women veterans
- Programs for veterans and their families
- Commemorative programs
OUR ACTIONS
- Meet veteran-specific mental and physical health needs
- Counter isolation.
- Prevent addiction and depression.
- Optimize veterans’ integration into civilian life
- Create opportunities for socialization.
- Provide a safe environment for sharing.
- Restore their self-esteem.
- Enable them to live with dignity.
Our programs offer increased support to Quebec veterans and pave the way for new projects, some of which are aimed at veterans’ families, who are also experiencing the repercussions of transitions.
HOW does the Foundation operate?
The QVF coordinates support and services for veterans who are patients or residents at Ste. Anne's Hospital by investing in activities and services dedicated to long-term care, mental health, pain management and wellness. The Foundation also works closely with local, provincial and national organizations who offer programs in Quebec that are adapted to the challenges veterans are facing during and after their transition to military life.
The Quebec Veterans Foundation is managed by a Board of Directors. It is registered as a charitable organization with the Canada Revenue Agency and Revenue Quebec.
