RURAL SENEGALESE WOMEN HAVE THE RIGHT TO SAFE CHILDBIRTH!

The Fondation Sénégal Santé Mobile is making this a reality. 

HOW?? An ambulance saves lives

We aim to SAVE LIVES by providing critical care with appropriate patient evacuation/transport to larger treatment centres.

Rural village clinics provide only basic primary care - infections, fever, vomiting, etc.  Women with difficult childbirth labour can bleed to death if they are not transferred to a larger treatment centre.

Also people that present with stroke, heart attack, ulcers, etc that need immediate acute care have to be transferred.

Very often no appropriate transport vehicle (usually a horse and cart) is available and large traditional ambulances cannot navigate into the village because there is no easy access from a main road.  There is only a rutted informal path.  Even with a 4x4 jeep it can take 45 minutes to travel some 10-20 km.

A tricycle “ambulance” is basically a cabin attached to a motorcycle.  These can more easily maneuver the path from the village to a main road.

AND for the first time in Sénégal each tricycle ambulance will be equipped with an oxygen delivery system.

We have already purchased 5 tricycle ambulances that will be donated in May 2024.  Each tricycle ambulance / oxygen costs $4000.  JOIN OUR CAMPAIGN TODAY – HELP US RAISE enough to money to support this program and to buy additional ambulances.

We aim to provide reliable transportation to women with difficult childbirth labour and people that need critical care to health centres where they can be treated. 

The goal of this project (with your help) is to expand the program with the donation of at least another 5 "ambulances" in 2025-26.
