Since 1993, Fondation Sophie-Barat helps students achieve their full potential by developing a dynamic environment at Sophie-Barat School.
Sophie-Barat public high school is located in Montreal (Ahuntsic) on an enchanting site lined with mature trees on the banks of Rivière des Prairies. Its main building, a heritage building, is the oldest managed by the CSSDM.
The mission of the Fondation Sophie-Barat is to help students achieve their full potential by developing a dynamic scolar environment in Sophie-Barat school (Montréal). Its objectives are threefold:
- Encourage and facilitate student participation in cultural, scientific and sporting activities.
- To support teachers in their educational enrichment work with students.
- To provide financial support for the development of projects and activities that attract the interest and participation of as many students as possible.
The majority of funding requests come from teachers who are sensitive to their needs and committed to their success. As a result, the funds raised by the Foundation are used to purchase computer hardware and various sports equipment, as well as to finance a number of events such as bursary awards at the end-of-year gala, prizes highlighting student commitment, and cultural and artistic activities.
