PRESERVING THE HISTORY OF EDMONTON.
Ensuring a vibrancy to our region's story!
The Fort Edmonton Foundation is a charity in Edmonton dedicated to preserving our region's history at Fort Edmonton Park. Founded in 1969 by Rotarians, business leaders, and passionate community members, the Foundation rebuilt Fort Edmonton and created a living history museum in Edmonton's river valley. Since then, with community support, volunteers, and donations, the Foundation has enabled Fort Edmonton Park to expand and become Canada's largest living history museum featuring the acclaimed Indigenous Peoples Experience, buildings and artifacts from the fur-trade era, 1885, 1905, and 1920s. The Park also features a 1920s-style midway and a vintage steam locomotive.
When you donate to the Fort Edmonton Foundation, we connect your contribution to developing historical buildings, interpretive sites, artifacts, and Edmonton's living history experience. We help secure the financial means to tell the story of Edmonton's beginnings by funding capital projects and initiatives at Fort Edmonton Park.
In addition, the Foundation has created the Fort Edmonton Foundation CARES initiative to ensure everyone has the chance to visit Fort Edmonton Park. The initiative focuses on expanding the Park's accessibility to children and youth who may be facing social or economic barriers.
