Our Vision

The Foundation’s vision is that all Mi’kmaw learners in Nova Scotia across all generations and communities will thrive through greater access to Mi’kmaw centered education, language, and culture so all community members can confidently create their own paths for today and the next seven generations.

Our Mission

Our mission is that the Foundation will grow its capacity to invest in and champion greater access to Mi’kmaw led education across all generations, by supporting lifelong learning, and elevating Mi’kmaw ways of knowing, while cultivating an environment where Mi’kmaw culture and language flourish within families and communities.

Looking Forward

We want to engage every community, learner and teacher to live their dreams and achieve their goals. We want to actively promote excellence in education, interests and rights for our communities and facilitate the development of lifelong learning. We will achieve this by responding to the needs of Mi'kmaq communities and students in attaining an education, enabling them to be the best they can at every stage of their educational journey.
