Palliative Care is an approach that improves the quality of life of patients and their families facing a life-limiting or terminal illness. The focus is on comfort rather than curative treatments. It is based on the patient’s wishes and family’s needs. Hospice is a home-like place where people go in the last few weeks of life if they cannot or do not wish to remain at home. Hospice provides support to the family coping with the loved one’s illness and the subsequent grief after death.
Since 1995, we are a non-profit organization providing volunteer support programs, complimentary therapies and patient comfort services to those with a life-limiting illness, their families and the bereaved from Agassiz to Hope and Boston Bar. We offer two hospice beds, a family room and community support programs. 45 volunteers serve an average of 100 clients directly and 500 clients indirectly and provide approximately 2,000 hours of unpaid service per year.
