The FVBEF is celebration of the return of the bald eagles to the Fraser Valley Region and unites the Communities from Mission to Harrison Mills over what we now refer to as the “Season of the Eagles”. The area now boasts having the largest numbers of eagles ever recorded in a 2 km area. Over 7000 eagles have been counted returning to feast on the abundance of spawning salmon that call the Harrison and Fraser Rivers “home”.
The initial or “ MAIN” event weekend is the Fraser Valley Bald Eagle Festival and in 2014 is in its 19th year. The Festival is a two day, jam packed family oriented event that highlights all the natural wonders we have in Super Natural British Columbia. Everyone is invited to experience the Harrison Mills land based eagle viewing sites, the indoor exhibitors fair (that will also host live Raptors), the line up of expert speakers, jetboat eagle viewing tours, First Nation salmon bbq and cultural demonstrations, fish hatchery and historical venue.
The following weekends will see local communities celebrating the bald eagle and the salmon with activities that will include photography workshops, additional Jetboat eagle viewing tours and much much more.
