The Fredericton Society of Saint Andrew Scottish Cultural Fund promotes Scottish culture and supports local Scottish organizations.
The Fredericton Society of Saint Andrew (FSSA) was established in 1825 "to afford relief to indigent Natives of Scotland, their Widows, and all connected with Scotsmen by descent". Today the FSSA supports local Scottish culture by hosting the Feast of Saint Andrew in November and Robbie Burns Night in January each year. We also celebrate Tartan Day in April and operate the genealogy tent at the NB Highland games in July. We also have monthly meetings where guest speakers discuss various topics related to Scottish culture and history. As well, our FSSA Scottish Cultural Fund supports local Scottish organizations and events.
