Gastrointestinal Society – COVID19 Support for Patient Resources

Campaign Ends Sept. 1, 2020

We need your support to continue to help the millions of Canadians who live with GI and liver diseases and disorders, and for those who want to maintain a healthy digestive tract.

Our Pressing Need: Patient Information Pamphlets

We publish a series of free patient information pamphlets that explain an array of complex GI conditions in lay terms, while answering frequently asked questions. These resources are shipped for free to individuals and healthcare facilities across Canada. You can view and order from our current series of pamphlets at: https://badgut.org/publications/bulk-pamphlet-order-form/

Our Medical Advisory Council, consisting of gastroenterologists, hepatologists, surgeons, researchers, and pharmacists, write and/or review all of our printed and online content. Pamphlets are annually reviewed for accuracy.

Our pamphlets are heavily relied on by hospitals, clinics, doctors’ offices, dietitians, other healthcare professionals, patients, and individuals across the country. They are now of more importance as COVID-19 continues to demand the majority of healthcare resources. We are currently struggling to meet the volume of orders we receive since we are working in limited capacity during this pandemic. Pamphlet requests are also increasing on a daily basis, in individual and bulk orders. Despite our limitations, we strive to be there for Canadians when they need it most.

The Gastrointestinal Society is committed to improving the lives of people with gastrointestinal and liver conditions, supporting research, advocating for appropriate patient access to healthcare, and promoting gastrointestinal and liver health.
