The mission of the Choir is to educate young people with an enriching, high caliber choral experience, enhancing the cultural life of the world we live in.
About GEORGIAN BAY CHILDREN'S CHOIR
The Georgian Bay Children’s Choir is a community choir for children and youth aged 6 through 20. Since 1986 members have been drawn from the southern Georgian Bay region of Ontario, with Owen Sound as the major centre. Its choral training program is committed to excellence through education, performance and competition. Each level of program – Allegretto, Youth Singers & Chamber Ensemble – is designed to develop musical skills and a love of choral singing. We believe that every child is given their own special voice at birth. We strive to provide a safe nurturing environment where each voice can grow, develop, and then be shared with the world. Making the world a better place, One Voice at a Time!
Our home base is the beautiful historic Harmony Centre in Owen Sound.
Our Chamber Ensemble has participated in festivals and competitions from coast to coast, the United States and Europe, and has hosted festivals and choirs from around the world. Our most recent experience was participating in the Unisong Fesitival Ottawa 2019! It was thrilling to be a part of the Canada Day celebrations and sing on the national stage!
