🎉 Gimli Saga: 150 Years — A Living Digital Heritage Project 🎉
For generations, families have kept their stories, photos, and memories tucked away in albums, boxes, and handwritten notes. Our goal is to bring them to life again — digitally — so they can be shared, discovered, and passed on for the next 150 years.
Through this project, we are:📸 Digitizing historic photos and artifacts🧬 Preserving family histories and community stories💬 Collecting new memories, interviews, and oral histories🌐 Building an interactive, bilingual online archive where everyone can explore, contribute, and reconnect🤝 Partnering with Indigenous, Icelandic, and multicultural communities to honour all voices and histories in this region
This is a community-driven project. It belongs to all of us — past, present, and future.
