Venezuela Earthquake Emergency Relief
On June 24, 2026, back-to-back earthquakes of magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 struck Yaracuy, Venezuela, triggering a national state of emergency.
The scale of the disaster is staggering. Earthquakes have devastated major urban centers including LaGuaira, Caracas, Mirand and Carabobo. The death toll has risen to 5,208 people. Over 16,740 people were injured, and over 58,000 buildings have been damaged or destroyed.
The unofficial report of missing persons is currently at 29,901. Around 23,587 displaced persons are housed in 107 temporary camps, lacking access to secure shelter, clean water or basic sustenance and survival needs.
According to Cendas-FVM, the updated price of a family food basket in Venezuela is $756.45 USD. Only 0.03% of that price is covered by the minimum wage of $0.17 USD – Venezuelan households cannot afford basic nutritional needs on wages alone.
Our Good Neighbors Global network has launched a $1,000,000 USD Emergency Response Operation specifically targeting 5,000 of the hardest-hit households (approximately 18,500 individuals). Field teams alongside local partners are mobilizing and acting, but we need immediate funding to scale up life-saving intervention.
As of today, Good Neighbours International has distributed hundreds of family tents and mosquito nets to reduce the chance of disease. Donor support enables our teams to coordinate further provision of hygiene kits, psychosocial support for youth, and emergency shelter.
Please donate today. Your donation will provide:
▪️Emergency Shelter Kits: Immediate housing for families who lost everything.
▪️Essential Survival Items (NFI): Blankets, hygiene kits, and kitchenware.
▪️Multi-purpose Tents: Used for emergency clinics, schools, and child-friendly spaces.
▪️Psychosocial Support: Safe spaces and toys for children and families to find some peace in a traumatic time.
Your support provides the survival necessities desperately needed to save lives and aid recovery efforts. Thank you for your donation.
