Gowns for Grads Winnipeg is a 100% volunteer-run organization. Graduating high school is a huge accomplishment, and every graduate deserves the chance to celebrate their success in style. Gowns for Grads helps self-identifying females, who are facing financial hardship and other challenges, to fully participate in their graduation festivities.

Our organization liaises with approximately 135 high school programs throughout Manitoba. To date, we have hosted over 6000 students from traditional public and private schools, adult education programs, off-campus, and alternative schools. "Shopping" appointments are arranged with the schools and students attend as a group. Gowns for Grads depends on over 100 community volunteers to manage these appointments and help the graduates to select a dress, evening bag and jewelry. Each volunteer is typically paired with one student for a personal shopping experience and our goal is to have students leave their appointments "grad-ready".  

We are very grateful to Hughes Development for providing us with a permanent location on McDermot Ave in the Exchange District in Winnipeg. This arrangement is pivotal in enriching the Gowns for Grads program.
