GivingTuesday is a global day of giving. After the sales of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, GivingTuesday is a time to celebrate and encourage activities that support charities and non-profits. Whether it’s making a donation, volunteering time, helping a neighbour, or spreading the word, GivingTuesday is a movement for everyone who wants to give something back. This is Great Lakes' first year participating in GivingTuesday and we are excited to be a part of this global movement.

As with many things in 2020, fundraising efforts have been hampered due to the global pandemic. A number of the fundraising methods which we annually participate in (Partnership Dinner, Homecoming, Community Service Day) are not an option this year due to COVID restrictions. We are thankful for alternative fundraising initiatives, like Giving Tuesday, which allow us to raise funds not only for our regular school program but to also offset the costs associated with protecting our staff and students with increased cleaning and the purchase of PPE.

Thank you for choosing to support our first GivingTuesday campaign. It is our hope to raise $10,000 dollars and we would not be able to achieve that without your generosity. If you would prefer to make your donation by mailing a cheque, please send it to Great Lakes Christian High School, 4875 King Street, Beamsville, ON L0R 1B6. Please indicate on your cheque that the donation is for GivingTuesday.
