At G.R.O.W. we believe that everyone deserves a chance to grow up safe and supported. But as a parent, it is really hard to give your children something that you, yourself, haven’t experienced.
These events, called “adverse childhood experiences” or “ACEs” impact how the brain develops, and the more there are, the higher the risk that the person will develop things like anxiety, depression, PTSD, diabetes, heart disease, addictions, rheumatological diseases, etc…
That’s why we exist - to help parents create a space for their children to develop deep, grounded roots, anchored in love and belonging - so that those children can one day open their wings and fly, knowing they will always have a safe place to land.
Certain things that happen in a child’s life can create what we call '“toxic stress”, which can cause significant mental and physical health issues in adulthood.
