About Guelph Chamber Choir
Established in 1980 through auditions with Dr. Gerald Neufeld as its founding conductor, the Guelph Chamber Choir (GCC) presents an annual concert series performing major choral works with professional orchestras and soloists, as well as concerts featuring a variety of shorter choral works that include Canadian composers. Under the direction of conductor Dr. Charlene Pauls, the choir has expanded its repertoire to include more contemporary works and those of emerging composers. The GCC partners with other community choirs and singers in the Guelph area to play a major role in the promotion and development of choral singing in this community. Outreach activities include free concerts in retirement residences and community events, plus educational workshops. The GCC has performed in the CBC National competition for community choirs, toured Europe performing at concerts and festivals, and has produced 7 recordings.
