Adopt an Acre of habitat with HAT. You can help our wildlife in need, give a gift to nature and to a loved one!
You are helping us work on the front lines to improve the habitats of hundreds of creatures – whether it is for owls facing an urgent need of nesting habitat, mother bats with young pups facing unexpected home evictions, or frogs forced to endure a life-threatening migration across busy roads.
These funds will go towards the Land Protection Fund - that will permanently protect habitats for our plants and animals in need of safe and secure place to live.
Your gift is extremely important - it offers immediate resources directed to current needs of these animals, plants, and their habitats at risk of disappearing.
Every living thing requires a home, but our local flora and fauna are rapidly disappearing as human demands on the land increase. That is why it’s more important than ever to conserve land now, to provide tools to protect and restore nature, to teach future generations about the importance of nature, and their role within it
Adopt an acre today!
We will send you or a recipient of your choice an Adoption Certificate in the mail or by email to commemorate your gift.
Please indicate recipient and address in the "Include the include a message for this charity" box. You can also indicate whether you would like a turtle, owl, or bat featured on your certificate. If not we will surprise you with a wildlife adoption ambassador of HAT's choosing.
These adoptions are symbolic, and do not constitute the actual purchase of an acre of land, but they do represent a meaningful contribution that goes towards effective programs protecting, enhancing, and restoring actual habitat for animals like the Western Screech Owl, Vancouver Island's 10 species of Bats, and the Western Painted Turtle.
If you would like to direct your donation to a specific aspect of the Land Protection program you can choose from Habitat Restoration, Enhancement of existing habitat for wildlife, or the Protection of ecologically sensitive lands. Otherwise we will direct your gift to the most urgent needs faced by HAT's Land Protection Program of these areas.
