A non-profit housing organization that partners with hardworking, lower-income families to build safe, decent and affordable homes.
Formed in 2021 through the merger of Habitat Regina, Habitat Saskatoon, and Habitat Prince Albert, Habitat Saskatchewan was created to strengthen our reach and serve more families in more communities. Since then, we have partnered with over 200 families to help them build a future through safe, affordable homeownership.
Why Housing Matters
A decent, affordable home is the foundation for a more healthy and stable life. It means families can put down roots, children can focus on school, and parents can plan for the future. Housing has a multiplier effect: it improves health, education, and economic opportunity, while building stronger, more resilient communities. At Habitat Saskatchewan, we believe that lasting change starts with a home.
How Our Model Works
Homes with Habitat Saskatchewan are not free. Every homeowner pays an affordable mortgage based on their income. Each payment helps construct the next home, creating a ripple effect of impact that strengthens communities across Saskatchewan.
As part of their partnership, families also contribute 500 volunteer hours — through Habitat initiatives or with other local nonprofits — ensuring they play an active role in building stronger communities.
Together, we’re creating safe, vibrant neighborhoods and lasting change across Saskatchewan.
