Remembering Life Member Colleen Wake

Last year, Kin Canada suffered the loss of Life Member Colleen Wake. Colleen gave so much of herself and her passion not only in Kin, but in every aspect of her life. She was a member of the Family of Kin for over 30 years, making tremendous local community impact, winning several Kin awards, and holding multiple leadership positions at all levels of our Association. Most recently, she gave her time, talent, and passion to Kin as a Hal Rogers Endowment Fund Board of Trustees Co-Chair.

As a strong, passionate leader, Colleen’s loss was greatly felt throughout the entire family of Kin, but especially within the HREF Board of Trustees as she was our Co-Chair this year. Her leadership of our team and her commitment to supporting youth through the gift of education was admirable and will be greatly missed. 

To honour Colleen, her home club, the Elgin St. Thomas Kinette Club, has set up a fund to raise money for a Kin Canada Named Bursary.
