The Haliburton Highlands Land Trust (HHLT) is pleased to announce that it has reached an agreement with the Campbell family to purchase an ecologically sensitive 200-acre property within Minden Hills. The property is within an area that Parks Canada has identified as National Priority for Ecological Corridors and as such enhances wildlife connectivity.
HHLT intends to develop a trail system featuring as many components of the property as possible. When the trail system is in place, the property will be opened to the public. It is a fabulous place to hold guided interpretive walks, undertake future research, and host educational events.
Thanks to a generous grant from our 2025-26 Parks Canada - National Program for Ecological Corridors, HHLT has the funds to purchase this property. However, we need the community to help us raise an endowment fund ($50,000) so that we can take care of the property in perpetuity. In addition, we will require funds to plan and implement a public trail system for hiking and snowshoeing a short 15-minute drive from the village of Minden.
