The Halifax Citadel Society (HCS) (formerly the Halifax Citadel Regimental Association provides visitor programming at the Halifax Citadel National Historic Site of Canada, sharing compelling Canadian stories with people from around the globe.

We are an innovative social enterprise and pride ourselves in presenting immersive, fascinating portrayals of daily life during pivotal, historical moments. This includes an extensive, year-round living-history program featuring re-enactments of the 78th Highland Regiment of Foot and the 3rd Brigade, Royal Artillery - two of the many British and Canadian units that garrisoned Halifax throughout the 18th, 19th and early-20th centuries.

Thanks to the support of our staff, members, partners and donors, we offer youth a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience our nation’s history, connect with people from different places and cultures, and become more engaged citizens.
