The Halifax Jazz Festival is a non-profit organization formed in 1987 to present the first-ever Atlantic Jazz Festival in Halifax. Over the past 37 years, the Halifax Jazz Festival has widened its horizons beyond the successful TD Halifax Jazz Festival to become involved, throughout the year, in a diverse range of musical and educational activities. Through unique programs like our JazzLabs Series and Creative Music Workshops, we work to develop opportunities for amateur musicians, established local artists and the broader jazz community.

Not just an organization, the Halifax Jazz Festival is a community. We are over 500 active volunteers, 200 members, 270+ local and regional jazz artists, a team of corporate and government partners and an audience that has surpassed 65,000.

Your generous donation will help fund Halifax Jazz Festival’s support of local artists, our year-round workshops and free programming during the TD Halifax Jazz Festival, as well as our community-based music education programme, Creative Music Workshop. We believe that jazz-inspired music is important to our culture and work every day to ensure that it is as strong and vibrant as it can be here in Halifax.
