Our Mission
The Halton Learning Foundation is on a mission to enrich educational opportunities and eliminate economic barriers to learning for students of the Halton District School Board.
About HALTON LEARNING FOUNDATION
One in 10 elementary and high school students in Halton lives in poverty, which presents significant barriers to their education. The Halton Learning Foundation (HLF) helps individual students of the Halton District School Board purchase the basic necessities and tools they need to come to school and remain engaged in learning. Through our Eliminating Barriers Fund, students-in-need may receive support for clothing, gym shoes, school supplies, transportation to school, or fees that allow kids to participate in school field trips or athletic teams. We also offer dozens of scholarships to help graduating students continue their educational journey.
HLF also raises funds to help schools across Halton enrich classroom programs. Many schools are unable to raise sufficient money in their communities beyond provincial funding, to purchase needed resources such as gym and playground equipment, books, technology, or physical and mental wellness supports.
