The Hamilton Buddhist Temple welcomes people of all faith to attend our services. We are one of many temples practising Jodo Shinshu Buddhism in Canada. As Shin Buddhists, we seek to be humble and sincere in words and in deeds, and to be responsible citizens of our society. We believe that the world is full of suffering, that things are impermanent, and we aspire to have compassion.
We are a member of the Jodo Shinshu Buddhist Temples of Canada (JSBTC). Our head temple is located in Kyoto, Japan. We have been in Hamilton since our first Obon service in 1946. Our temple is open to people who sincerely wish to learn and practice Jodo Shinshu Buddhism.
